Culburnie Holiday Cottage is located within the peaceful hamlet of Culburnie, a scattered settlement some 2 km west of the main part of Kiltarlity village, and about 20 km west of Inverness, the Highland Capital. It is an ideal base from which to visit the North and West Highlands. Culburnie is a 15 minutes drive from Inverness and Loch Ness.

There are shops, hotels and restaurants only a short distance away in nearby villages. For instance the village of Beauly ,with its mediaeval Priory, is only 5 miles away. A former winner of Britain in Bloom it has excellent visitor facilities including shops, bars and restaurants.

Other local activities include pony-trekking, fishing, golf and many hill and forest tracks for the walker and mountain biker. There is stunning mountain scenery in nearby Strathglass and the magnificent Glen Affric National Nature Reserve. Here you can spot an variety of Highland Wildlife including the Eagle and Red Deer. To the north Ben Wyvis and the Fannaich range are also only a short drive away. The Rivers Beauly, Glass and Farrar are renowned for their Salmon while there is excellent trout fishing in lochs in the nearby Glens.

Further afield you can explore our Highland Heritage, visiting Castles, Museums and Distilleries or perhaps take a Boat Trip to view the Dolphins of the Moray Firth. Also within easy reach are the Isle of Skye, John O’Groats and Speyside.
